Staff Spotlight: Jack Springer
Jack Springer joins Rapp Strategies as an intern for the summer of 2025 while he pursues a bachelor's degree in marketing and analytics from Villanova University. He is excited to gain experience in strategics communications, public affairs, and consulting.
“I jumped at the opportunity to work at Rapp Strategies this summer because the small, hardworking environment provides the opportunity to learn about many different projects the firm is working on. The role I have this summer will help me learn skills that I will use for years to come.”
Before interning at Rapp Strategies, Jack worked part-time at Mowery Communications where he assisted with social media analysis, vetted media outlets for client interviews, and drafted external policies for clients.
What motivated you to pursue a career in strategic communications?
I have always been fascinated by how we all form our opinions. I developed this during my Competitive Effectiveness class in college where my group was tasked with creating a marketing plan for a real-world product. Learning about brand messaging and reputation management while working with real world clients piqued my interest in strategic communications.
What is your favorite professional experience?
While in my role at Mowery Communications I had the opportunity to present C-Suite level employees with the groundwork for an executive amplification plan. Although I was nervous, it was rewarding to see that they valued the work I put into my research and presentation.
What is one habit that makes you more successful?
Developing a routine. It allows me to perform well during the week because my mind and body know what will happen every day. I’ve found this allows me to put more focus on tasks at hand because my routine takes care of the necessary preparation for the day.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Like any young kid who enjoyed sports, my dream was to be the starting Quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings!
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?
Receiving the “Faculty & Staff Award” in my senior year of high school. I received a lot of disappointing news during my junior year and decided I couldn’t let it ruin my academic standing and attitude during my senior year. I refused to let it keep me down and it paid off as I was the only student recognized with this award in my entire senior class.
What is one thing about you few people know?
I enjoy going to any musical event I can. Whether it is a country music concert or seeing the Minnesota Orchestra, I enjoy experiencing all different types of musical events.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
1. “Don’t let the grass grow beneath your feet.” I take this to mean that you should always be making progress on something, never being stagnant throughout life.
2. Do the little things right. If the details are not executed correctly, everything will start to crumble eventually.
What is one piece of wisdom you would give your younger self?
Take time to stop and enjoy all the small, fun, moments while growing up.
What is your favorite or most-used app on your phone? Why?
My most used app is Instagram. It’s fun to see what friends are up to and keep up with sports highlights at the same time. However, I do end up “doom scrolling” on Instagram reels from time to time.
What is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The best place I have traveled to is Hawaii. It was surreal to experience the warm weather, fresh seafood, and being on island time. I would love to go again someday!
